A stiki is a story in wiki form. A wiki is any content that is editable by the public or a large group of people. Wikipedia uses wiki software to allow anyone to edit online encyclopedia entries. Likewise, StikiMe allows many users to edit and share stories with each other.
StikiMe is an online publishing website for sharing stories, anecdotes, or anything else you want with the world or a group of friends. You can add stories and allow others to edit them, or edit other people's stories. StikiMe is great for reliving funny or interesting moments in your past or for writing something interesing collaboratively with others.
It stuck.
First, you should register. This gives you the ability to add stories, edit stories, and have a list of friends to share stories with. Next, you can either add your own stiki, or edit someone else's. Some people allow any and everyone to edit their stories, but sometimes you have to ask to be a coauthor on someone else's stiki.
The biggest difference between StikiMe and other blogs is that you can go back and edit stories as many times as you like, but with an added bonus. StikiMe uses an efficient background program to make updates to the stories while preserving who made each individual change. This is useful for figuring out who may have added or deleted a line of text. This also allows you to undo certain changes made by yourself or others if you deem them inappropriate or unnecessary. If you are the original author or designated as an admin on a particular stiki, you can access these features by clicking on the StikiCP link on the stiki's page.
After you have become a member, you can add a stiki at any time by clicking the add a stiki link at the top of the page. After you've added the stiki, you can access StikiCP to edit additional features such as visibility, editability, and coauthors.
If you are the original author of a stiki, you can edit your stories anytime you want by clicking on the Simple Edit
link on the stiki's page. If the stiki was started by someone else, there are two ways to edit:
1. If the original author has allowed anyone to edit, then you can click on the Simple Edit link
(you must be logged in to do this).
2. If not, you can click on the Add Me as Coauthor link to request to be made a coauthor on this stiki.
If the original author allows you to be a coauthor, then you are given access to edit the stiki.
If a stiki requires you to be a coauthor, then you can click on the Add Me as Coauthor link on the stiki's page in order to request to be made a coauthor on the stiki. All requests are accepted or denied by the original author of the stiki.
Relax, because all is not lost! One of the best things about StikiMe is that all changes are recorded. If you are the original author or an admin on a stiki that someone else may have deliberately ruined, you can acccess the StikiCP for that stiki and view the changes. If you find a change that you do not like, you can simply click the Undo button and it will be removed forever. NOTE: Read that last line carefully. Pressing Undo will completely remove the change from the stiki, so only use it if you never want to see the text again!
