Aliza was out of breath, running for her life. She heard the crackle and pop of the branches as she sped up to avoid capture. Faintly she could hear the footsteps of the person chasing her. Neither of them uttered a word, but heard the footsteps and crackle and rustle of the autumn leaves, branches belonging to huge trees, bushes and ivy.

Suddenly and without warning, a hand reached up behind her, grabbed hold of her mouth, and ordered, "Keep your mouth shut or I will slit your whore throat." Aliza pondered this sentences realizing she could outsmart her attacker. How could her throat be a whore? That does not make any sense!

It was in this very moment a thought arrived in her mind like a train at is final destination. Men who attack others have unresolved issues with their mothers. Instead of working out these differences by speaking to the woman, they choose to wonder down the path of power and control. If they gain control of a defenseless woman, the attacker takes small step forward in his advancements toward his mother in his mind. True resolve transcends time, space and moments.

Even though there are no one small moments or one large moments, there are many of these instances for us to do the right thing. For a man who is afraid of the unrequited love of his mother or who begs for his mother's praise like a child asking for a quarter to purchase a stick of gum at the local 5 and 10 store, it becomes the proverbial pebble in the pond.
